Access to Justice Conference

Hosted by JUSTICE and Communicourt

This conference provided a real insight into the supportive measures that are available for those with disabilities, mental disorders or that need the extra support - ensuring that everyone has access to justice.

The panel of speakers from various walks of life gave a variety of perspectives on this topic and discussed the ways in which it is necessary and needs improvement. I was especially interested in His Honour Judge Neil Clark’s discussion and how this has also affected him and his family. But also his support of this topic and attempts to make this accessibility exclusive to all.

Additionally, Andi Brierley’s perspective was both inspiring and insightful. His story displayed that no matter where you are in your life, it’s never to late to undertake a new journey.

I want to thank Communicourt for offering this opportunity to the students of Leeds Law School! It has given me the opportunity to engage with this discussion and connect with professionals within the legal industry.
